Hamburg, NY - Lake Shore Behavioral Health, Inc. has opened a counseling center at 3176 Abbott Road at the corner of Abbott Road and Lake Avenue. A grand opening was recently held to celebrate the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Kathy Hochul, Erie County Clerk and attended by Joan Kesner, Town of Hamburg Councilwoman.
The counseling center will offer mental health and substance abuse counseling. Lake Shore Behavioral Health President Dr. Howard Hitzel stated, "We are pleased to open this beautiful new facility. We all know that when behavioral health problems go untreated - families, friends, loved ones, employers and communities all suffer. Good mental health is an essential part of everyone's overall health and well being. Mental illnesses and addictive disorders touch all of us. We, at Lake Shore Behavioral Health, are proud to be a resource for individuals and families who suffer with their illness or addiction and don't know where to turn."
Adults struggling with mental health problems and drug or alcohol addictions are treated at the center. The center is licensed by NYS Office of Mental Health and NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. Individuals seeking more information can call Abbott Corners Counseling Center at 822-2117. Lake Shore Behavioral Health serves individuals from all neighboring communities including Orchard Park, Hamburg, Lackawanna and Blasdell.
